Abonti is an Associate Researcher at the Naik Lab. In 2024, Abonti completed her Honours Bachelors of Science in Life Sciences at McMaster University. At McMaster’s Farncombe Family Digestive Health Research Institute, she conducted several research projects that aimed to enhance the quality of care for Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Celiac Disease patients through bench and clinical work.

At the Naik Lab, Abonti works closely with Dr. Yue Xing on studies related to early life inflammation. Abonti also oversees patient recruitment in the Dermatology Clinics for translational studies in the Naik lab.
