This highly competitive award recognizes outstanding doctoral candidates and provides support for their training and development as future independent scientists.
Joe’s project focuses on remitting-relapsing inflammatory disorders, notably psoriasis, and the mechanisms that underlie how inflammation alters long-lived epithelial cells that predispose them to relapse and epidermal pathology. The F31 will provide critical funding and resources to help move this exciting work forward.

Jack Major and Rachel Kratofil presented their current projects at the annual Precision Immunology Institute Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (PrIISM) Retreat on Friday, November 22. Rachel Kratofil also won the Best Trainee Talk award.
